About Us

Just Like You is a mother-daughter owned post-mastectomy boutique located in West Monroe, Louisiana. Opened in 1997 to serve the needs of breast cancer survivors in our area, Just Like You is the only store of its kind in the state.  By specializing only in post-mastectomy fittings, we can provide a level of service that’s impossible to match.  We carry breast prosthesis, post-mastectomy bras, pocketed lingerie and camisoles, swimwear, and garments designed to be worn home from the hospital immediately following breast surgery. Our fitters are certified by every major manufacturer, and we offer insurance billing at no charge. We accept assignment from Medicare, and we are providers for Blue Cross, OGB, United, and many others. We are also recipients of a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to provide women with no insurance coverage with breast prosthesis and bras at no cost.

Our Fitters:

Ann Ward has been fitting breast prosthesis and post-mastectomy bras for over 28 years. She started out working in a durable medical equipment store where the post-mastectomy fittings were done in a “shoe room” at the back of the store. Ann worked to grow the store’s mastectomy business and eventually built it up enough to convince the owners to offer a separate area for fittings. Still, when ladies would come in they might be greeted by one of the men who worked in the store. The ladies would frequently put a hand up to their chests and quietly ask to speak to a lady. In 1995, Ann’s husband’s job moved them to Kentucky, and Ann went to work for a lady who had a boutique that was dedicated only to breast cancer survivors. It was the first time she had ever heard of anyone doing just post-mastectomy fittings, not selling lingerie or medical equipment, too. When her husband retired, the couple moved back to Louisiana to be near their daughter, and Ann opened up Just Like You. She is now a national product consultant for Jodee and American Breast Care, and she is board certified by the American Board for Certification, as well as manufacturer certified by every brand offered in the store.

Beth Davis, Ann’s daughter, grew up in the fitting room. As a little girl, she frequently went to work with her mom and spent many afternoons playing “store” with the inventory. Naturally, when Ann opened Just Like You while Beth was in college, she went to work. Certified as a fitter in 1998, Beth worked at the store part-time until graduating from Louisiana Tech with her marketing degree. She is board certified by the Board for Orthotics and Prosthetics Certification, and has served on retailer panels for Amoena and American Breast Care. Beth organizes all of our in-store promotions and puts together our quarterly newsletter. A mom of two young girls herself, Beth is looking forward to raising another generation of little fitters!
